Mexico has for quite a while been very prominent on the map of the new Disco wave.

The Funk District has been a key player for years, with his funky demeanor, sly editing skills and bulls eye taste making talents.

An Evening With El Diablo is taken from Editorial‘s latest outing, Raw Funk.

It’s a slow boogie jam, that eases into the track with some lo-fi filtering in of the main riff, adding layer upon layer of percussions and the works in the rhythm section.

The main samples are lifted from Sound Experience‘s ‘Devil With The Bust‘ from 1974, a rare piece of funked up jazz from an era where studio musicians were better than the elite of today.
