Stockholm’s own soul voyager, Kimchii, returns to Too Slow To Disco NEO with a sun-soaked transmission of Balearic drift—half memory, half mirage.

There’s something West Coast in the sway of it, all velvet chords and slow-motion sparkle, but beneath the gloss floats a northern tenderness, a quiet undercurrent that carries the whole thing beyond gravity.

It’s hazy but never loses its grounding, making for a wonderful and unique offering from Kimchii.

Swedish producer and multi-instrumentalist Kimchii (Kim Söderlund) truly creates dance music with a painter’s touch — emotive, textured, and glowing with understated soul. Somehow blending indie sensibilities with nostalgic electronics and layered vocals, the Kimchii sound feels equally at home among the sun-soaked after hours set, as it does in your headphones on a rainy Scandi day. Inspired by the unifying spirit of soul and disco, he often uses his voice like an instrument — adding warmth and cohesion to his carefully sculpted productions.

With a background in heavy metal and jazz guitar, Kimchii builds atmospheric, groove-led music that blurs the lines between indie, dance and a kind of cinematic dream. With a debut album on the horizon, he’s been quietly building a world of his own — one honest, beautiful, and always moving. We are so very glad to welcome Kim on board of the TSTD universe again, after his unforgettable “Windsurf” track on Sunset Manifesto Volume 1, and his vocal smoothness on Nicolaas’ “Forever Always” E.P.

A Pacific breeze rolls in slow over Seeds, the latest transmission from Woolfy vs. Projections—drenched in gold and dusk, lifted from the upcoming Sunset Manifesto Vol. 2.

There’s a kindred spirit here to Poolside (who also grace the aforementioned compilation)—lazy, low-slung grooves and that soft melancholia that clings to the edge of summer.

This duo comprises Simon “Woolfy” James and Dan Hastie and they’ve been releasing music since 2000 for a who’s who of contemporary disco/electronic labels: DFA, Rong, Future Classic and Permanent Vacation. Their latest album “Destinations” (on Permanent Vacation) is their fourth studio album. The pair are committed to a laudable task: making California into an outpost of the Balearic islands – endless summer, guaranteed! Their music combines the classic West Coast sound with a twist of dark disco and a twilight vibe. This exclusive track is something of a disco odyssey! Close your eyes and “Seeds” will recreate the warm glow of a Los Angeles sunset, backed by the distant rhythm of the Pacific. A deep, rolling Moog bassline drives the journey forward, steady and hypnotic like the open highway. Lush horns rise and fall like the city’s hills, while shimmering synthesizers paint neon streaks across the sky, capturing the euphoric feeling of returning home. This is one invitation to dance under the palm trees you won’t want to decline.
