Mitiko (Sacha Mitich) fires back again on Disco Fruit Records, a label and lovechild of Tonbe, that has put out 7 megatons of amazingly good records since 2014. Mitiko rose to our attention with his incredible edit of Change’s ”Let’s Go Together” last year (also on Disco Fruit). Disco Fruit, a Serbian label, has a distinctive design to both their sound and their covers, the latter relying on an approach that lends more than a little from the Grand Theft Auto universe. Contemplated disco crimes.
With ”Nights Near The Fire” Mitiko conjures up a magical and lush R’n’B loop, and builds up an almost sexual vibe. A slow and driving beat gets company from a deep and lingering bass hook and leads into a looped vibe. Dubby, floating vocals flies around the mix, creating a dubby and laid back, yet super sophisticated atmosphere.
This is a different avenue for Mitiko, whose main output has a more melody driven approach. Although we’re suckers for classic melody hooks, this is a welcome variation in our book!

Discoholics Anonymous doesn’t ask for cookies. It slips them into your pocket while you’re not looking, the way clubs used to slip flyers into your coat lining at 4:37 in the morning. Some of them are harmless — the house keys. They keep the lights on, remember who you are, stop the whole thing collapsing when you hit refresh. Without them the site is just a room with no door. The others are curious little spies. They want to know which mixes you stayed for, which ones you ghosted, whether you
