If you have listened to Hot To The Touch you can’t have missed the fact that I’m crazy about the sound from Cruise Music. The Serbian label has been at the forefront of the Jackin’ House resurgence for years, particularly helped by label bosses Cruz & Funk.
Island Groove, dropping this Friday, comes on like a summer fever dream – an ecstatic transmission from the funk lab where these two conjure their sound. It’s the rhythm of a Caribbean dusk caught in a mirrorball thumping with the low-slung pulse of House music and shimmered over with disco’s glittered promise.
One of their finest in a while I might add, and that’s saying something.
