Londoner Even Funkier is loose in Mexico, so to speak. Disko Knights just released his Say The Word EP, a two-tracker that spans wide.

The titular Say The Word is a refined and pumped up 80ies tinged reworking of Phil Collins’ Sussudio from 1985.
Even Funkier creates his rendition of a proper 12″ extended version of it and along the way brings it aptly into the 2020’ies. This has radio airplay written all over it.

Onna Good Thing (Never Give Up A Good Thing by George Benson) is much faster paced and uses an early 2000s sample loop approach, which then again creates a slightly more House tinged feel to it.

Once more Even Funkier displays his strengths and versatility and Disko Knights maintains an impressive level of quality for their releases.

Discoholics Anonymous doesn’t ask for cookies. It slips them into your pocket while you’re not looking, the way clubs used to slip flyers into your coat lining at 4:37 in the morning. The others are curious little spies. They want to know which mixes you stayed for, which ones you ghosted, whether you
